Introduction
ICYMI, I will be speaking (virtually) at the UKVMUG on 25th November 2021. I’ll be talking about my one of my favourite topics (no not myself), Certifications!
In addition to my day job at VMware and the working with the HOL Team, I have spent the last 18 months was an Education SME for the VMware Education Team. It has been very rewarding but hardwork. During this time I have contributed to 13 different exams (at various levels) across the VMware SDDC technology domain. Chances are if you are taking a VMware exam this year, my name maybe on the blueprint. Add that to the 30+ exams I have taken since I started my career 20 years ago and I think it is safe to say I know a little bit about taking exams.

The second-half application for VMware vExpert 2021 close soon 9th July 2021. Now I appreciate that there has been a plethora of posts about the benefits of being a vExpert, so I thought I would share my story too :)
What Is The vExpert Program?
In my opinon, at it’s heart, the VMware vExpert Program is not just about advocacy and envanglism, it’s about community. It brings people together. It encourages those people with diverse backrounds, who live in different countries or continents (that would likely never meet otherwise) to share their own experiences with VMware Technology through the medium of their choice. It encourages people to give back with the hope that someone, somewhere can learn something, fix a problem or just know that they are not alone. Most importantly, you DO NOT have to be an VMware expert to be a VMware vExpert (but it does help!).

Introduction
In this series of posts, we will be taking a look at how to configure a Multi-Organization Tenancy (aka Multi-Tenancy) in vRealize Automation (vRA) 8.1. In this post, I will tackle the configuration of new Tenant Adminsistrators within vRA 8.1 multi-organization tenancy environment.

What is a Tenant Administrator?
The Tenant Administrator is a role who is responsible for the configuration of the VMware Identity Manager (vIDM) solution for the tenant. This makes it role in vRA 8.1 is significantly different to in vRA7.x because the Tenant Administrator role does not, by default, have any rights to the vRA Organisation/Tenant. The Tenant Administator is only granted ReadOnly Admin and Super Admin privilges within vIDM!

In this post, I will tackle the management of User Directories in a vRA 8.x Multi-Organizational Tenancy deployment. Specifically, we will look at:
- Migrating a User Directory from the Provider Tenant into the Customer Tenant.
- Adding a new User Directory to the Customer Tenant using VMware Identity Manager.

Have you ever wanted to go to VMworld and never had the travel or budget approved?
Well, unless you have been in cryogenic stasis for the last 6 months (and if you were, maybe you were better off), then you will know that VMworld 2020 is going to be VERY different this year. It is a single GLOBAL event, on 29th September - 1st October 2020. It is VIRTUAL. It is FREE. There is NO EXCUSE not to register.
